The former imperial sailors\' station Kongsnaes, which was built between 1891 and 1895 under the direction of architect Holm Hansen Munthe on behalf of Kaiser Wilhelm II, embodies a fascinating symbiosis of historical authenticity and modern living comfort. Originally prefabricated in Strømmen, not far from Oslo, the timber components were mounted on fieldstone plinths by Norwegian carpenters and still define the unique character of the ensemble today.

The log boathouse with its dark wooden façade, idyllic loggias and artistically decorated dragon heads on the slated roofs is a particular eye-catcher, creating an authentic Nordic ambience. In recent years, the building has been extensively renovated in keeping with its listed status. Modern details such as underfloor heating, double glazing and stoves have been carefully integrated into the historic fabric. Where old material was missing or could not be preserved, original components were used. An elegant plank floor in the living rooms and bedrooms underlines the Nordic flair of the apartment.
