The former imperial sailor station Kongsnaes, which was built between 1891 and 1895 under the direction of the architect Holm Hansen Munthe on behalf of the then German Emperor and King of Prussia Friedrich Wilhelm II, is located in the Berlin suburb. Kaiser Wilhelm II, also known as the "travel emperor", undertook more than 20 boat trips to Scandinavia and found the inspiration for the imposing ensemble of monuments on these journeys. The "Hasselbakken" restaurant on St. Hans Haugen in Oslo served as the model for the striking buildings. The wooden components were originally prefabricated in Strømmen, around 20 kilometers east of Oslo, and then mounted on fieldstone bases by Norwegian carpenters in Potsdam.

The log boathouse is particularly eye-catching with its dark wooden façade, idyllic loggias and ornate dragon heads on the slate roofs, which create an authentic Nordic ambience. In recent years, the building has been extensively renovated in keeping with its listed status. Modern details such as underfloor heating, double glazing and stoves have been carefully integrated into the historic fabric. Where old material was missing or could not be preserved, original components were used. Elegant floorboards in the living rooms and bedrooms underline the Nordic flair of the apartment.

The apartment on offer covers an area of around 102 m² and combines historical elements with contemporary living comfort. You enter the apartment from the stylishly designed staircase and enter directly into the spacious living area. This offers plenty of natural light thanks to large windows. The terrace can be reached from here via the living area and offers a wonderful view of the Jungfernsee.
